1. Google News
Google News is a Google service that offers headlines from most-trusted online newspapers. You may be wondering what Google News helps us as blogger finding ideas to write, aren’t you? Yeah! We are blogger not a journalist nor a reporter we don’t usually blog newsy stuffs but we may discover new ideas to write when read the news (I myself have experienced it many times). For example, The New York Times reported that Lady Gaga get married with her boyfriend and I could make up a longer and more interesting story about her weeding like what’s going on in the weeding, what she and her bridegroom wear…. If the news is HOT, your post might have a chance to go viral.
2. Alltop
Alltop is a popular blog directory. Many famous blogs like CNNGo, Techcrunch, Mashable, Problogger… also listed their blogs on Alltop. What are you going to do with Alltop? Alltop is just as similar as Google News but it focus on blog rather than news. Alltop could helps you with ideas what other blogger are blogging, what topic is trending… You can choose your favorite category and check out what’s going on in the field you are interested. You could also learn from the leading blogs in the industry without surfing too much. Alltop is very helpful for blogger like me.
3. Trendhunter
Trendhunter is an online trend community and series of trend publications. The community includes a global network of several thousand contributors that identify emerging micro-trends. These micro-trends are then published for an audience of several million monthly views, which provide the data for Trend Hunter’s research. You understand what Trendhunter is, don’t you? Trendhunter always publishes hot and trending stuffs but every of its micro-trends are not very complete, not interesting to read, and very short. Why not make a very complete one? You can make a longer article which is more explained, more easy to read, and more interesting… I think Trendhunter alone can help you find many interesting ideas to write without surfing around too much.
4. Yahoo! Answers
Curious people go to Yahoo! Answers to ask questions and wait for answers. Most of them also go to Google to search for a cool answer. So why don’t you answer their questions from your own blog? It’s easy, just go to Yahoo! Answer and search for question in your related field, find a good question, do more research and start blogging. Your blog post should be more than an answer to their question. It should be complete answer with explanation and some extra resources. Think of possible questions that the questioner might want to ask more and answer.
